What we collect and why

When you visit our website

We collect basic information about how you use our site — which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what device and browser you're using. This helps us understand what's working and improve the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for this. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other websites. We do not build advertising profiles.

If you fill in our contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, company, and details of your enquiry) so we can respond to you. We also collect your answer to how you heard about us, which helps us to understand how people find our services.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with research, drafting, and document review. Here's what you should know:

  • Your data isn't used to train AI models. We only use AI services that don't train on customer data.
  • A qualified lawyer reviews everything. AI assists us, but humans make the decisions and check the work.
  • You can opt out. If you'd prefer we don't use AI tools on your matter, let us know.

We may use AI services from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), and tools built in to our other software (e.g. Google Gemini). Our terms of business will include more detail.

Who we share your information with

Our service providers

We use trusted software to run our practice:

  • Clio (practice management)
  • Google Workspace (email, documents)
  • Proton (email)
  • Xero (accounting)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • PayPal (payment processing)
  • AI providers (as described above)

All our providers are contractually required to protect your data and only process it on our instructions. A full list of our sub-processors, including their locations and data protection agreements, is available on request.

When we're required to

We may need to share information with:

  • Courts and tribunals (if your matter involves proceedings)
  • Regulators (SRA, ICO, HMRC)
  • The National Crime Agency (if required by money laundering law)

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate legal safeguards — typically UK International Data Transfer Agreements or transfers to countries the UK has approved as having adequate data protection.
